Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wellington walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hagerty Huskies 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Wolverines, who have now won ten contests in a row.

Tori Payne was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed eight innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off ten hits. Payne was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Payne wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Angelina Baronci, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Hagerty, they moved to 24-7 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Wellington nor the Huskies have any future games scheduled.
