Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Academy for Urban Scholars Centurion Hawks, falling 56-34.

When it comes to explaining why Cristo Rey lost, don't look at Xavier Hargrove. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Croom, who had eight points.

Cristo Rey's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Academy for Urban Scholars, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Cristo Rey will head out to face off against KIPP Columbus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy for Urban Scholars, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ohio School for the Deaf at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
