Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Cougars vs. Harriton Rams

The Springfield Cougars will challenge the Harriton Rams at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Harriton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Springfield, who comes in off a win.

Springfield came out on top against Radnor on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Cougars put the hurt on the Raptors with a sharp 7-1 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cougars have posted against the Raptors since May 15, 2023.

Nolan Dulski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Danny Meakim was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nick Corse was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Harriton was not able to break out of their rough patch last Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 12-0 to Penncrest.

The win made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Harriton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Springfield skirted past Harriton 3-1 in their previous matchup back in April. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
