Softball Recap: Lakeside Christian Has No Trouble Against Seven Rivers Christian

Lakeside Christian hadn't done well against Seven Rivers Christian recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Lakeside Christian Lions blew past the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors 19-4. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Jamisen Rheintgen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lakeside Christian got a massive performance out of Lex Mello, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Kah'Rin Vance was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her seven plate appearances.

Lakeside Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seven Rivers Christian struck out eight times.

Lakeside Christian pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.4 runs. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
