Volleyball Game Preview: Northeastern Knights vs. Union County Patriots

The Northeastern Knights will challenge the Union County Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northeastern will be strutting in after a win while Union County will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Northeastern turned things around against Seton Catholic on Saturday. They came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 2-0. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Cardinals on their court since September 10, 2020.

Meanwhile, Union County came up short against Jay County on Saturday and fell 2-0. Union County hasn't had much luck with Jay County recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Union County may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 14 points in every single set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14.

Northeastern's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.

Northeastern was able to grind out a solid win over Union County in their previous meeting back in September, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
