Basketball Game Preview: Lake Mary Rams vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

The Lake Mary Rams and the Lake Howell Silverhawks will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Lake Howell took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Mary, who comes in off a win.

Lake Mary is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by University to the tune of 61-25 on Monday. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lake Howell's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 58-45 to New Smyrna Beach. While losing is never fun, the Silverhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Barracudas are ranked 13th).

Lake Howell's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-5. As for Lake Mary, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Lake Mary strolled past Lake Howell in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 76-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Mary since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
