Basketball Recap: Winters Mill Falls Despite Big Games from Chase Siegel and Tommy Hinkhaus

Winters Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hereford Bulls. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Winters Mill's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Tommy Hinkhaus, who went 7-for-9 on his way to 17 points, and Chase Siegel, who posted 15 points and five rebounds. Hinkhaus' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nat Curley, who put up ten points.

Winters Mill's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Hereford, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10.

Winters Mill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-52 defeat against Glen Burnie on the 19th. As for Hereford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 41-34 loss against Century on the 21st.
