Argyle is a perfect 4-0 against Grapevine since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Meanwhile, Grapevine ended up a good deal behind Mansfield Timberview on Thursday and lost 35-20. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 352nd, while the Wolves are ranked 84th).
Although Grapevine took the loss, they still got scores from Jake Graham, Jailen Holmes, and Cooper Towery.
Grapevine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Argyle, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Argyle has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 439.8 total yards per game. It's a different story for Grapevine, though, as they've been averaging only 204.8 total yards. Will Argyle be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Mustangs flip the script?
