Softball Recap: Jay County Patriots vs. Bluffton Tigers
There's no place like home for Jay County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Bluffton Tigers a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.
Carley Trinidad was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.
In other batting news, Brenna Ruble was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Morgan Missicano, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Jay County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bluffton only posted an OBP of .167.
