Volleyball Recap: Wheatmore Takes a Loss

Wheatmore lost against Ledford back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors lost 3-0 to the Panthers.

Wheatmore was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Ledford work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-12, 25-17.

Alexis Holifield paced Wheatmore's offense, picking up eight kills. Holifield got some help from Lanie McMahan and her 16 assists. Holifield was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Wheatmore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Ledford, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Wheatmore has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against West Davidson on the 16th. As for Ledford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Lexington Senior on the 16th.
