Soccer Game Preview: Westminster School at Oak Mountain vs. Oak Mountain

The Westminster School at Oak Mountain Knights will venture away from home to take on the Oak Mountain Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Westminster School at Oak Mountain sitting on five straight victories and Oak Mountain on 18.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain barely beat Fultondale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Westminster School at Oak Mountain never let Fultondale get on the board and left with a 5-0 win last Thursday. Given Westminster School at Oak Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Fultondale are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oak Mountain's contest last Friday was close up to the half, but then they kicked things up a notch. They blew past Hewitt-Trussville 4-0. Oak Mountain might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matches by three goals or more this season.

Sam Collins and Gerardo Rodriguez scored all four of Oak Mountain's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Westminster School at Oak Mountain pushed their record up to 9-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Oak Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 18-0.
