Basketball Game Preview: Sherman Huskies vs. North Douglas

The Sherman Huskies will face off against North Douglas on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Sherman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They snuck past Adrian with a 56-51 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Huskies.

Meanwhile, North Douglas had already won 20 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they went ahead and made it 21 on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 75-56 win over the Red Tail Hawks. Given North Douglas' advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Rogue Valley Adventist is ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sherman's record now sits at 22-5. As for North Douglas, their record now sits at 26-3.

Sherman came up short against North Douglas in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 69-60. Can Sherman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
