Football Recap: Whites Creek Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Whites Creek has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They fell 20-12 to the Maplewood Panthers on Thursday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cobras came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Panthers are ranked 237th).

Whites Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Maplewood, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5.

Whites Creek and Maplewood will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cobras see the field they'll take on Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Maplewood, their break will end when they face Westmoreland at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
