Basketball Game Preview: Lytle Pirates vs. Crystal City Javelinas

Lytle and Crystal City are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Lytle Pirates will head out to square off against the Crystal City Javelinas at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lytle is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hondo just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 49-29 to the Owls.

Meanwhile, Crystal City got the win against Poteet on Friday by a conclusive 46-23. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Javelinas.

Crystal City has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Lytle, their loss dropped their record down to 10-17.

Things could have been worse for Lytle, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-33 loss to Crystal City in their previous meeting on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crystal City's Izabela Tapia, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Now that Lytle knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
