Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Islanders vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The Coronado Islanders will challenge the Patrick Henry Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Coronado has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Patrick Henry will arrive with three straight wins.

Friday just wasn't the day for Coronado's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of University City on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Islanders have lost by exactly three runs.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry won against St. Augustine on Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Patriots beat the Saints by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-2.

Patrick Henry's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Coronado suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Patrick Henry when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can the Islanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
