Bayside won the last time they faced Heritage and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bears were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Panthers. Considering the Bears have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
NICOLE GARCIA spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, LEAH ACKER was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. HANNAH DOLLAR also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Bayside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted an OBP of .333.
Bayside's record is now 9-10. As for Heritage, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Bayside will host Port St. Lucie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jaguars have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Heritage, they are taking a road trip to take on Sebastian River at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
