It was a good run, but Pinecrest unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 8-5 to the Heritage Huskies. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Eythan Reynolds was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was JC Woolard, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Pinecrest's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Heritage, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will take on Lee County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will head out to square off against Knightdale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Knightdale has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.45 runs per game on average), something Heritage will no doubt try to take advantage of.
