Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 19-18. On the bright side, the 18- run effort marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring contest to date.

Brielle Dessner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Thissen, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 2-10 record.
