Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Skyline Falcons

Roosevelt has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will square off against the Skyline Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Roosevelt focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Roosevelt came up short against Northridge and fell 61-48.

Roosevelt's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Nolan Peterson, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals, and Seppe Salvatore who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. Salvatore scored a full 31.3% of Roosevelt's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Joseph Palma was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 assists.

Meanwhile, even though Pomona scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, Skyline still came out on top. Skyline took their contest against Pomona 74-62.

It was another big night for Talan Starcevich, who scored 26 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Diego Kheng, who scored 16 points along with 6 steals.

Roosevelt's victory lifted them to 1-4 while Northridge's loss dropped them down to 1-2.

This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Roosevelt have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Skyline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out. Roosevelt came up short against Skyline when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-49. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
