The Perris Panthers will face off against the Heritage Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Perris put up the most points they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Canyon Springs as they made off with a 33-7 victory. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since September 19, 2024 (when they won 41-0).

Perris relied on the efforts of Logan Moore, who rushed for 143 yards and one score, and Xavier Cruz, who threw for 324 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Those 324 passing yards gave Cruz a new career-high.
Another reason for the win was Perris' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Dekoven Washington and Aden Perez, who racked up all five sacks between them. Perez also made ten total tackles, which is notable because Perris is 2-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-5 otherwise. The Panthers received some extra help from Washington, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Heritage fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 35-34 W against Citrus Hill.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Hayden Hill and Cody Bowie. Hill had a great game on Friday and rushed for 174 yards and one touchdown. Meanwhile, Bowie was balling out in the loss, rushing for 176 yards and one TD while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 100 receiving yards.
Heritage's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Perris, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-6.
Everything went Perris' way against Heritage in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as Perris made off with a 33-12 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
