Volleyball Recap: Oakville Comes Up Short

Oakville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Pattonville Pirates. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-21 in the first set.

Oakville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Carson Hulsey paced Oakville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hulsey got some help from Will Olwig and his 32 assists. Nate Czuppon controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Milo Mainquest went supernova For Pattonville., getting 22 digs and four assists. Mainquest has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more digs the last 12 times he's played.

Oakville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Pattonville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Oakville has already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Parkway South on the 25th. As for Pattonville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-1 tie against Whitfield on the 26th.
