Baseball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

Athens couldn't beat Climax-Scotts on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Indians lost 14-4 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Climax-Scotts, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Athens will be playing in front of their home fans against Mendon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. As for Climax-Scotts, they will take on Colon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
