Football Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for South Davidson + How To Watch

South Davidson extended their postseason success on Friday against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. They took down the Gryphons 27-12. 27 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for Gage Underwood, who rushed for 183 yards and three TDs while picking up 8.3 yards per carry. Those 183 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Underwood was just one part of a punishing run game: South Davidson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 253 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 192 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

South Davidson pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.9 points on average over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
