Baseball Game Preview: Dickson Comets vs. Davis Wolves

Dickson is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to defend their home field against the Davis Wolves at 5:00 p.m. Dickson has given up an average of 12.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Dickson lost 19-8 to Ardmore on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Davis). Everything went their way against Fairview on Friday as Davis made off with a 13-5 win. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by exactly eight runs.

The victory made it two in a row for Davis and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Dickson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Dickson might still be hurting after the 26-4 defeat they got from Davis in their previous matchup back in March of 2021. Can Dickson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
