Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mid Valley

Mid Valley waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Wyoming Valley West Spartans with a sharp 59-38 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

Mid Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jakob Lesher out in front who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Lesher a new career-high in rebounds. Kaleik Cook was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds.

Mid Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Wyoming Valley West, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid Valley and Lakeland will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mid Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season. As for Wyoming Valley West, they will square off against Reading at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses dating back to last season for Wyoming Valley West and three for Reading.
