Softball Recap: Elkhart Finds Home Field Redemption Against Pioneer

There's no place like home for Elkhart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the Pioneer Panthers 7-0 on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Laci Stimac made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Fionna Topolski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

Elkhart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Elkhart now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Elkhart wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-4 win against Tippecanoe Valley on the 26th. As for Pioneer, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-1 victory against Frontier on the 28th.
