Recap: Lovejoy Wildcats vs. Mundy's Mill Tigers
The Lovejoy Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 70-57 to Mundy's Mill. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Lovejoy still got an impressive performance from Demarco Davis, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Tj Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Mundy's Mill had a senior duo take command as Dajuan Riddle scored 25 points and Orlando Favors scored 21 points along with nine rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Riddle has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aaron Lyles, who scored 12 points.
Lovejoy bumped their record down to 6-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Mundy's Mill, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Lovejoy will take on South Cobb at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. South Cobb is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Mundy's Mill will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jonesboro at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Jonesboro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mundy's Mill in Georgia (Jonesboro is ranked 96th, while Mundy's Mill is ranked 228th).
