Softball Game Preview: Oak Forest Bengals vs. Bolingbrook Raiders

The Oak Forest Bengals are taking a road trip to take on the Bolingbrook Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Oak Forest will be strutting in after a victory while Bolingbrook will be coming in after a loss.

Oak Forest took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over Evergreen Park.

Meanwhile, Bolingbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Minooka.

Bolingbrook saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karina Choi, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Choi is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Oak Forest is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Bolingbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

Oak Forest beat Bolingbrook 11-7 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
