Basketball Recap: Wartburg Central Comes Up Short

Wartburg Central was the 57-40 winner over Harriman when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wartburg Central Bulldogs fell to the Harriman Blue Devils 40-34. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Harriman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaralyn Humphrey led the charge by going 5 of 10 en route to 13 points. Humphrey is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Addison Langley, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Wartburg Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Harriman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wartburg Central will welcome Jellico at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wartburg Central is facing Jellico at the right time seeing as Jellico is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Harriman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Oakdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
