Volleyball Recap: DMLK Comes Up Short

DMLK was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the KIPP Denver Collegiate White Tigers.

DMLK took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.

Israel Anulo paced DMLK's offense, picking up seven kills. Anulo got some help from Romeo Johnny and his nine assists. Finally, Esquire Coleman kept DMLK's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

DMLK's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for KIPP Denver Collegiate, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. DMLK is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, KIPP Denver Collegiate will take on rival Gateway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
