Basketball Recap: Granger's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Granger's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Hunter Wolverines by a score of 52-45. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granger to victory, but perhaps none more so than Will Tidwell, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Benson Turcsanski, who had ten points.

Hunter lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Samiu Taukiuvea, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Those 16 boards gave Taukiuvea a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keaton Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Granger's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-13. As for Hunter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Granger didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-52 victory against Taylorsville on the 28th. Hunter has also already played their next contest, a 51-48 win against Kearns on the 28th.
