It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but The First Academy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Foundation Academy Lions as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While The First Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-22.

The First Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Selah Kohler led the charge by getting 16 digs and three assists.

When it comes to explaining why Foundation Academy lost, don't look at Luna Dela Cruz. Despite the final result, she had 23 digs. Dela Cruz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

The First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Foundation Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 21-6.

Looking ahead, The First Academy will head out to square off against Orangewood Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Foundation Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
