Recap: Lake Norman Charter Knights vs. Hough Huskies
Even though the Lake Norman Charter Knights have not done well against the Hough Huskies recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter walked away with a 62-52 victory over Hough. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Lake Norman Charter did.
Lake Norman Charter got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Wilkie out in front who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Irelan, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists.
Hough's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Galombeck, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds. Cole Skovira was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Lake Norman Charter now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hough, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Lake Norman Charter will head out on the road to face off against West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hough, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cox Mill at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Cox Mill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Wednesday.
