Softball Game Preview: Springdale Dynamos vs. Northgate Flames

The Springdale Dynamos will head out on the road to challenge the Northgate Flames at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springdale is looking for their season's first win.

Springdale lost 11-3 to Brentwood on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Northgate hadn't done well against Brentwood recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Monday. The Flames came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 11-7. 11 seems to be a good number for the Flames as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Johna Abramowicz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Northgate got a massive performance out of Sa'Niyah Wilson, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in May of 2024. Gracie Auth was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Northgate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Northgate and bumps their season record up to 9-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Springdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Springdale suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Northgate when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Dynamos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
