Softball Recap: Granville Takes a Loss

Granville had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 8-15 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs by a score of 5-4. The Blue Aces were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

As for Bloom-Carroll, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.5 runs.

For Bloom-Carroll's part, Emma Brandt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Brandt has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

As of now, neither Granville nor Bloom-Carroll have any future games scheduled.
