Basketball Game Preview: Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. DeLand Bulldogs

Mount Dora Christian Academy will head into Tuesday's contest having proved themselves against Winter Park: Mount Dora Christian Academy took a 22-point loss the last time they faced off against Winter Park, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Mount Dora Christian Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Winter Park 38-36. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Wildcats are ranked 292nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask DeLand). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Calvary Christian Academy 70-8. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Mount Dora Christian Academy pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for DeLand, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.

Mount Dora Christian Academy skirted past DeLand 45-42 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mount Dora Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
