Basketball Recap: Clintonville Comes Up Short

Clintonville lost against Freedom back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Clintonville Truckers were dealt a 99-42 loss at the hands of the Freedom Irish. While losing is never fun, the Truckers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Irish are ranked fourth).

Clintonville has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Freedom, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Clintonville will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New London at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th. New London has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Freedom will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Catholic Memorial at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.
