Softball Game Preview: Richland Rams vs. Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers

Richland is on a three-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Hollidaysburg a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Richland Rams will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Hollidaysburg took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Richland, who comes in off a win.

Richland gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Penn Cambria 4-3.

Carissa Weld spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Richland's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alea Ladika, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Hollidaysburg didn't have quite enough to beat Clearfield on Tuesday and fell 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Tigers have lost by just one run.

Lexi Peacock and AJ Good stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peacock went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI, while Good got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was Good's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Halle Chandler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Hollidaysburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Richland, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
