Baseball Recap: West Scranton Comes Up Short

West Scranton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wallenpaupack Area Buckhorns. The Invaders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Buckhorns from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

West Scranton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Walsh, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

West Scranton's record now sits at 1-6. As for Wallenpaupack Area, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Scranton is set to square off against their familiar foe Valley View at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wallenpaupack Area will face off against rival Abington Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
