League recap: Dupee's hot bat leads Pittsville

Nathan Dupee was the hottest hitter in Marawood - South this week, racking up a .400 average, two home runs and 13 RBIs. Pittsville went 7-0.

The league's top pitcher this week was the Panthers' Sawyer Ladick. He won two games and struck out 16 batters.

Pittsville's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 35 hits and 14 walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Panthers, the league's stolen base leader this season with 52, added to their lead in that category with 27 more steals over the past week.

Pittsville's Ladick was locked in this week, and led the league with a .455 average (10-for-22) over that span. For the season, he's hitting .490, good for first in the league. Ladick has totaled 24 hits this season.

Ladick hit an excellent .455 for the Panthers. His season batting average leads the league at .490.



Ladick threw a shutout as he led Pittsville to victory over Stratford, 3-0, on Monday. He pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 11, while giving up one hit.

Dupee drove in five runners as the Panthers defeated Newman 15-4 on Thursday. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
