Baseball Game Preview: Saguaro Sabercats vs. O'Connor Eagles

The Saguaro Sabercats will take on the O'Connor Eagles in a tournament on Thursday.

After dropping their season opener at home, O'Connor is headed out to face a Sabercats team ready to give their home crowd a win. Saguaro took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gilbert on Wednesday. The Sabercats' loss signaled the end of their 19-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, O'Connor had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Chandler 9-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Eagles have posted since April 10, 2024.

Cody Stoller tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Tommy Pascanu was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Hunter Day was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

O'Connor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chandler only managed four hits.
