Volleyball Recap: Canyon Takes a Loss

If Canyon was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of San Marcos on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars came up short against the Cornerstone Christian Warriors on Friday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-10, 25-18.

Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lightsey got some help from Logan Sanders and her 18 assists.

Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 25-13. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 31-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Canyon will face off against Johnson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will square off against Our Lady of the Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
