Basketball Recap: Coastal Comes Up Short

Coastal lost against St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Coastal Hurricanes took a hard 52-33 fall against the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Knights.

Cody Phillips was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and almost dropping a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic. Those 31 points gave Phillips a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Nederostek, who posted four points along with six boards and three steals.

Coastal's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-4.

Coastal will head out to take on Calvary Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Southeastern Christian Academy on January 31st.
