Baseball Recap: Schuylkill Valley Takes a Loss

Schuylkill Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oley Valley Lynx. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 4-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Connor Huggard spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. He has become a key player for Schuylkill Valley: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Schuylkill Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody DeJesus, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Schuylkill Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Oley Valley, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Coming up, Schuylkill Valley will face off against Tulpehocken at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oley Valley, they will take on Central Bucks West at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
