Baseball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Has No Trouble Against Shenandoah Valley Academy

Eastern Mennonite got themselves on the board against Shenandoah Valley Academy on Tuesday, but Shenandoah Valley Academy never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Stars with a sharp 12-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Flames in their matchups with the Stars: they've now won eight in a row.

Chaysen Curry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isaac Ott, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Mani Babar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Eastern Mennonite was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Eastern Mennonite's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Eastern Mennonite and Shenandoah Valley Academy will both be playing Blue Ridge the next time they take the field. The Flames will host the Barons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Stars will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on the 9th.
