East Columbus is 9-1 against Fairmont since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Gators will take on the Golden Tornadoes in a tournament on Monday. East Columbus will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

East Columbus had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Purnell Swett on Saturday. The Gators put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Gators have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Aleigh Godwin, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylah Collins, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

East Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Fairmont's hitters rose to the challenge against a Titans pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.44 runs allowed on Saturday. The Golden Tornadoes walked away with a 10-7 win over Heide Trask.

East Columbus' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Fairmont, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10.

East Columbus took their win against Fairmont in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Golden Tornadoes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
