Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Central Flashes vs. Fishers Tigers

Franklin Central hasn't had much luck against Fishers recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Flashes will face off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Franklin Central came out on top against Roncalli on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Flashes took their contest against the Royals 5-2. The Flashes haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Cash Bradshaw looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Franklin Central's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lane Armstrong, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. The Flashes are 5-1 when Armstrong posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise.

Fishers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2025 (when they won 12-2). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Lafayette Jefferson.

The team relied heavily on Carter Strole, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Isaac Fernandez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Franklin Central's record now sits at 10-12. As for Fishers, their record is now 11-12.

Franklin Central couldn't quite finish off Fishers when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Flashes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
