Baseball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Shelby County

There's no place like home for Shelby County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Washington County Commanders by a score of 8-5 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rockets also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2017.

Foster Whisman was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Quinton Sheets was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Shelby County pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shelby County will face off against North Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Marion County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
