Recap: Apple Springs Eagles vs. Fannindel Falcons
There's no place like home for The Apple Springs Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road two weeks ago. They enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over Fannindel on Friday. The win was just what Apple Springs needed coming off of a 63-14 loss in their prior contest.
Defeat or not, Fannindel got some senior leadership from Kazion Dugan who rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries and Ke'monte D cuba who gained 140 total yards and three touchdowns. Dugan is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Apple Springs' victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 4-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.7 points per game. As for Fannindel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apple Springs will square off against Oakwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fannindel, they will head out on the road to face off against Trinidad at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Trinidad will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
