Basketball Game Preview: Valhalla Norsemen vs. West Hills Wolf Pack

Valhalla is 1-8 against West Hills since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Valhalla Norsemen will venture away from home to square off against the West Hills Wolf Pack at 6:30 p.m.

Last Friday, Valhalla lost to Santana on the road by a 50-35 margin.

Valhalla might have lost, but man, Ava Miles was a machine: she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards. Miles has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Milana Kasyouhannon, who posted eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, West Hills waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Marauders 38-21.

Valhalla better keep an eye on Jordan Dillon. She was instrumental in West Hills' win, almost dropping a double-double on 27 points and nine boards. Chloe Nickerson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Valhalla's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for West Hills, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Valhalla has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 52.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like West Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.7 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.

Valhalla might still be hurting after the 51-31 defeat they got from West Hills in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dillon, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds.
